Collection: Perspectives

This series is an exploration in composition and the intersection of 2 and 3 dimensional space, past and present, as well as permanence and impermanence. Paint is applied and removed, in increments, small and large. In some cases shapes and layers are removed completely only to become a piece of the history of the piece itself. Elements are created with varying processes using only acrylic paint and graphite line work. Some of these pieces push the boundaries of painting and collage as rich, thick paint is cast and cut into shapes and overlaid on a bed of textural acrylic. While these pieces tend to be visually simple, the processes, thought and time involved tend to reflect complexity and restraint. Please feel free to reach out via email with any questions or thoughts on these pieces.
